To Gaze upon His beauty...

One thing I have desired of the Lord, that I will seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple.
-Psalm 27:4

Over the past couple of months, I have been contemplating on basic human behavior--particularly among Christians. One question that has been burdening my heart has been why we intentionally and sometimes unintentionally try to keep others from the LIGHT that lies within them? Why is it that when we hear the successes of another or are challenged profoundly by them, that we immediately try to compare them to someone else's successes or bring up their weaknesses and what they "aren't" doing right? I know that the answer is indefinitely sin. It is sin that takes us to this place. But I'm noticing this about myself and how I don't want to be like this. So, what is the answer? The answer is Jesus. My gaze needs to be so fixed upon Him that nothing else takes its place--that there isn't a distraction--even if it is the "good." I am seeing how God is shaping His people right now and how he is calling them (as he has since the beginning of time) to himself. I don't know about you, but I am most delighted when my heart is in recognition of Jesus--when it rests on His side. My prayer is that this will be your prayer as well: to see the world cling to Jesus with all that they have. For the Church to rise up in the goodness of the Lord. For people to seek Jesus out and find him. And for our main goal to be in the gaze of Jesus. Be blessed and know that you're loved! :)

There is no love, sweeter than the love you pour on me.
There is no song, sweeter than the song you sing to me.
There is no place that I would rather be.
